About Public Holidays in South Sudan
South Sudan, the world's newest country, celebrates a holiday calendar built around its hard-won independence. Independence Day on July 9 marks the 2011 secession from Sudan, the country's greatest national celebration, and the Peace Agreement Day in October commemorates the 2018 settlement.
