About Public Holidays in Slovensko
Slovakia's holidays blend Catholic devotion, national memory and folk tradition. Christmas Eve is the family centrepiece, with the traditional kapustnica soup and carp, while Easter keeps the folk custom of the ลกibaฤka whipping and painted eggs. National days honour the founding of the Slovak state on January 1, the uprising against fascism on August 29, and the declaration of sovereignty in July. Saints Cyril and Methodius Day on July 5 celebrates the Slavic missionaries, and All Saints' Day brings candlelit cemeteries in early November.
In 2022, Slovakia observes 0 public holidays, of which 0 fall on a weekend.
