About Public Holidays in Singapore
Singapore's holidays are a deliberate celebration of multiracial harmony, with Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian traditions all represented. The Chinese New Year, the Buddhist Vesak Day, the Muslim Hari Raya Puasa and Hari Raya Haji, and the Hindu Deepavali are all public holidays, alongside Christian Good Friday and Christmas. The National Day on August 9 anchors the civic year with the famous parade and aerial displays. The country's Labour Day and New Year complete a calendar explicitly designed to honour every community.
In May 2028 there are 3 public holidays: Labor Day, Eid al-Adha (estimated), Vesak Day (estimated). In 2028, Singapore observes 12 public holidays including 12 national, of which 2 fall on a weekend.
