About Public Holidays in قطر
Qatar's holidays reflect Islamic faith and the modern Gulf nation's rapid development. The two Eids are the great celebrations, with the Ramadan fast preceding Eid al-Fitr and the Hajj season preceding Eid al-Adha, while the National Day on December 18 commemorates the unification of the country in 1878 with parades and heritage villages. The Islamic New Year, the Prophet's birthday and Labour Day complete the calendar. National Day falls in a festive December season that extends into the new year.
In 2028, Qatar observes 8 public holidays including 8 national, of which 4 fall on a weekend.
