About Public Holidays in México
Mexico's holiday year is a vivid mix of civic commemorations and Catholic feasts. September 16 marks Independence Day, celebrated with the famous 'Grito' ceremony, while the Day of the Dead on November 1-2 blends pre-Hispanic and Catholic tradition into a national remembrance of the departed. Christmas runs long in Mexico, anchored by the posadas that begin on December 16, and labour-related dates such as Constitution Day, Labour Day and Revolution Day are moved to Mondays for three-day weekends. Regional fairs and patron-saint festivals complete a dense calendar.
In December 2028 there is 1 public holiday: Christmas Day. In 2028, Mexico observes 7 public holidays including 7 national, of which 2 fall on a weekend.
