Public Holidays in Mauritania 2021
Public Holidays —
About Public Holidays in موريتانيا
Mauritania, the bridge between Arab North Africa and black Africa, celebrates a predominantly Islamic holiday calendar. The two Eids, the Islamic New Year and the Prophet's birthday follow the lunar calendar, while Independence Day on November 28 marks the 1960 break from France. The country's famous camel races and the traditional Maalouf music of its Moorish culture give its national celebrations a distinctly Saharan character, and the festival of the Coran recitation in Nouakchott is a major annual event.
In 2021, Mauritania observes 0 public holidays, of which 0 fall on a weekend.
