About Public Holidays in Luxembourg
Luxembourg celebrates one of Europe's most generous holiday calendars. National Day on June 23 honours the Grand Duke's official birthday with torchlight parades, while the country keeps both Ascension and Whit Monday, Assumption, All Saints' Day and Christmas as public holidays. Easter Monday, Labour Day and the May 9 Europe Day complete the list. The Grand Duchy's blend of French, German and native Luxembourgish traditions gives its celebrations a distinctly cross-border character.
In January 2028 there is 1 public holiday: New Year's Day. In 2028, Luxembourg observes 11 public holidays including 11 national, of which 1 falls on a weekend.
