Public Holidays in Czech Republic 2022
Public Holidays —
About Public Holidays in Česko
The Czech Republic keeps a holiday calendar shaped by Catholic feasts and modern statehood. Christmas is the great family celebration, with carp on the table and the baby Jesus (Ježíšek) bringing gifts on Christmas Eve, while Easter maintains the folk tradition of decorated eggs and whips. National days mark the founding of the state on October 28 and the liberation of Europe on May 8, and Saint Wenceslas Day in September honours the country's patron. Good Friday was restored as a public holiday in 2016 after a long absence.
In 2022, Czech Republic observes 0 public holidays, of which 0 fall on a weekend.
