About Public Holidays in Colombia
Colombia has one of the most holiday-dense calendars in the world, with a distinctive system that moves most civic holidays to Mondays to create long weekends. Celebrations range from the patriotic July 20 Independence Day and August 7 Battle of Boyacá to Catholic feasts such as Epiphany, Saint Joseph and Corpus Christi, all shifted to Mondays.
