Cameroon, 'Africa in miniature', celebrates a holiday calendar that reflects both its English and French colonial heritage. National Day on May 20, marking the 1972 unification, is the great celebration with parades in every town, and the country observes Christmas, Easter, Good Friday and the Assumption.
